Genesis Zimbabwe ("Licensor") provides a suite of business management applications under a mixed licensing model. Some applications are licensed under a commercial per-device license, while others are provided free of charge. This page explains the licensing terms for each component of the Genesis ecosystem.
Subject to your payment of applicable fees and compliance with these terms, Genesis Zimbabwe grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the Genesis POS software on a single device per license purchased. Each device that runs the Genesis POS application requires a separate paid license.
The Genesis POS license is granted on a per-device basis, not per-user or per-company. A "device" means a single physical hardware unit (such as a POS terminal, tablet, smartphone, or computer) that runs the Genesis POS application. Key terms:
The license fee for Genesis POS is USD $15.00 per device per month. Fees are billed monthly in advance. All fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated in these terms. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
License fees are due at the start of each billing period. If payment is not received within 7 days of the due date, we may suspend your POS license until payment is made. If payment is not received within 30 days of the due date, we may terminate your license. Late payments are subject to a 5% late fee per month.
The POS commercial license includes:
All POS licenses renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through the Management App billing section or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are given for mid-period cancellations.
The Genesis Management App is licensed to you free of charge for as long as you maintain an active account. This license grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Management App, including all its features (dashboard, inventory management, sales reports, user management, supplier management, and PrivateZenith AI). This license is conditional on compliance with our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. We reserve the right to suspend or revoke this license if you violate our terms.
The Supplier Portal is licensed free of charge to suppliers and vendors who are invited by Genesis Zimbabwe business account holders. Suppliers receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access purchase orders, submit invoices, and manage their supply relationship. This license may be revoked by the inviting business or by Genesis Zimbabwe at any time.
The Company Portal is licensed free of charge to employees and staff members of Genesis Zimbabwe business account holders. Staff receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access their role-appropriate features, including clock-in/out, task management, and company communications. This license is managed by the business account administrator.
PrivateZenith AI is provided as part of the Management App and is licensed free of charge to Management App users. This license covers the use of AI-powered features including business insights, predictive analytics, inventory optimization suggestions, and natural language queries. Usage is subject to fair use limits as described in the Terms of Service.
Free application licenses do not expire and do not require renewal, provided the user maintains an active account in good standing and complies with the Terms of Service. Genesis Zimbabwe reserves the right to introduce paid tiers for certain features in the future, with reasonable notice to users.
Certain components of the Genesis software ecosystem incorporate open-source libraries that are licensed under the MIT License. The MIT License text is reproduced below:

The POS app validates licenses periodically when online. If the app is offline for an extended period (more than 14 days), POS functionality may be limited until the license is re-validated. Offline validation grace periods:
License keys follow the format: GN-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX where X represents alphanumeric characters. Each key is unique and tied to a specific company account. License keys are non-transferable between companies.
If your license key is lost, stolen, or compromised, contact support immediately. We will deactivate the old key and issue a replacement. Replacement keys are subject to a verification process that may take up to 48 hours.
Regardless of the license type (commercial or free), you may NOT:
You may terminate your license at any time by ceasing use of the software and, where applicable, canceling your subscription through the Management App. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of fees already paid unless required by applicable law.
We may terminate or suspend your license immediately if you violate these license terms, the Terms of Service, or any applicable law. In the event of termination for cause, no refund will be provided.
Upon termination: (a) your right to use the software ceases immediately; (b) you must uninstall and destroy all copies of the software in your possession; (c) you may export your data through the data export tools available in the Management App within 90 days of termination; (d) Sections 7 (License Restrictions) survive termination.
After license termination, you have 90 days to export your business data through the Management App. After 90 days, your data may be permanently deleted in accordance with our Data Retention and Deletion Policy.
